How NOUVADerm   Works

™

NOUVADerm™ is a revolutionary 1927nm Thulium fractional laser that targets water molecules in the skin's epidermal and superficial dermal layers. Using precise grid-pattern energy delivery, it creates controlled microthermal zones (MTZ) that stimulate natural collagen and elastin production while preserving surrounding healthy tissue for accelerated healing.

Treatment Procedure

  1. After the initial consultation to determine skin goals and a proper treatment plan, the first treatment session begins with cleaning the skin.

  2. A topical numbing cream will be applied to reduce any possible discomfort.

  3. The specialist will then apply the NOUVADerm™ laser to the target area.

  4. Following treatment, your aesthetic specialist will moisturize the area and discuss aftercare instructions. - a vital part of your resurfacing success!

Side Effects

Side effects will vary based on age, skin condition, treatment, treatment area, and treatment response.

 

Side effects are usually temporary and mild, and can include:

 

  • Burning sensation (like a slight sunburn)

  • Itchiness

  • Numbness

  • Peeling or flaking

  • Redness

  • Sun sensitivity

  • Swelling

  • Tenderness

  • Tightness

  • Tingling

Aftercare

Desired results not only depend upon the procedure and skill of the technician, but on following all aftercare instructions provided by the skin care specialist. 

 

Avoid

  • Picking the scabs - let them slough naturally!

  • Touching/rubbing the treatment area

  • Make-up until peeling is complete

  • Sun exposure (wide hat & SPF 50 sunscreen for a minimum of 3 months) 

  • Scrubs/harsh exfoliants/retinoids and shampoo for at least 1 week

  • Hot water and saunas for at least 3 days

  • Strenuous activity until healed

  • Chlorinated water for at least 1 week

To Do's

​

  • Keep skin dry for at least 3 days

  • Keep treated areas clean with gentle, non-alcoholic cleansers

  • Ice pack or cool compress for swelling & to relieve discomfort

  • Use gentle, hydrating moisturizers, such as RE|PAIR Post-Treatment Serum

  • Drink plenty of fluids
